I took the boys in for a check up today. Everyone is in great health and they were both very brave! After their exam, they snuggled up to sleep while I chatted with the vet. They are such sweet little loves.

New buddies
Today I picked up some new kittens to add to our pride and be playmates for Spaghetti and Meatballs. One of these kittens is a three month old black and white fluffy named Calamari. Here's a video of Calamari trying to get into the Italian duo's secret tree house club...
They were a little afraid of him at first because of his size, but he is winning the boys over with his charm and gentleness.
The Christmas Cookie Kittens also joined the foster pride tonight. Spaghetti is super in love with the little tortie girls and Meatballs is happy to play with everyone.

Petting Spaghetti!
This morning was the first time that Spaghetti greeted me with a meow instead of a hiss. I made their breakfast and started loving on Meatballs, then Spaghetti came over and nuzzled my fingers. I was pleasantly surprised at such a warm greeting and started to lightly pet him and he LIKED it! Spaghetti is going to quite the little love bug after all.
Learning about Lovings
We've been working on getting used to being petted. Meatballs is all about his loving time, but Spaghetti has been hanging back and watching. Today was the first day that Spaghetti didn't hiss and run away. He actually sniffed and nuzzled my fingers (skip to the end to see!). I am so impressed with these brothers and all of their progress!

Cuddling in the Kitty Tree
The kittens have ventured up the kitty tree and it has become their new favorite cuddle cubby.
Little Spaghetti sure loves his brother Meatballs!
Hey, is that pate in your hand?! Spaghetti likes food... Ha ha.

Coming out to play
Today the boys ate all of their pate and were ready to start exploring their kitten room. I opened the door and found them bouncing around. They were chasing each other through tunnels and pouncing on every toy in their path. My little ones are at home!
They have found all sorts of nooks and crannies to hang out in, but they really love their scratcher tube.
Meatballs has become quite the love bug! He came out of his little cardboard house and started to sniff my fingers. I gently picked him up and he started to snuggle in my arms. He looked up at me with his big beautiful eyes and nuzzled my nose as he started to purr. I smiled so big that my face hurt a little.
Spaghetti is still a little unsure of me, but he was curious about what was making his innocent little brother purr... so he wandered over to sniff my knee. I was able to pet him gently on his back and he continued to check me out between play sessions. I think he will really start to come around with a little extra patience.
Here's Spaghetti batting and gnawing at his bouncy scratcher toys. He's such a tough little man.
And here they both are running about and playing. How wonderful is that?!

Meeting the Boys
A few good samaritans found these scared little boys in a Lowes parking lot and stepped in to save them. Thank goodness because they are adorable! I picked the two brothers up from the vet today. They estimated their age at about 5 weeks. They are teeny tiny at only about 1.5 lbs each. They were pretty unsure and scared when the vet techs put them into my carrier. The poor babies backed into the corner and looked at the giant people peering in at them. These kittens were on a path to a very rough life, but thanks to some caring people they are going to be loving pets. The volunteers who saved them named the brothers Spaghetti and Meatballs, so away I went with my Italian take out.
When we got home it took a little while for my little shy guys to come out of their carrier. I slowly took the cover off of the carrier and they watched me with their big eyes. Wondering what this strange lady was doing and where they were... They crammed into a tiny corner and I fixed them some canned food, which they sniffed, but weren't too sure about.
Spaghetti (gray and white) is less trusting than his innocent brother Meatballs (tan and white), but he is also braver. Spaghetti has a courage and strength in him. Meatballs is quiet and gentle. Meatballs is always standing behind Spaghetti and waiting for him to lead. They love each other and are very bonded. I gave them some time to settle in and then brought them some new canned food. This time a nice salmon pate. They loved it and began chowing down! First, Spaghetti sampled and then Meatballs followed to share in the feast.
I was so excited that I had to take a video...
I ran out to get them a little enclosed bed at Petsmart. When I returned they had ventured out of their corner and were sniffing the giant kitty tree. They started a little as I opened the door, but recovered quickly. I think they though "Hey... that's the lady who gave us pate..." I put the bed in the corner near the kitty tree to give them some privacy and they both ran right in it. They started to curl up to sleep and then realized there was a fun fluffy ball dangling from the ceiling. SO they played! This is huge! I'm so happy that something as small as a new hideout could make them so much more comfortable.
This duo is only going to get more confident and cuddly. So stay tuned and fall in love!
